At the heart of our marae, Kirimangu is where manaaki and mahi come together to support whānau.

Kirimangu is the name of our Social Services arm. Grounded in deep connections to many whānau near and far.

We stand as a trusted hub, a familiar face, a safe space, and a central gathering point for the community. This unique position allows us to offer tailored services and true wrap-around support.

All Kirimangu programmes are designed and delivered for Māori, by Māori – embracing kaupapa Māori values and ensuring whānau Māori are at the centre of everything we do.

We are proud to hold a Level 2 Social Sector Accreditation Standard with Te Kāhui Kāhu, affirming our commitment to high-quality, culturally grounded care.

A RANGE OF PROGRAMMES INCLUDING

  • Ngakau Atawhai

    Our Oranga Tamariki – Rangatahi Preventative Programme is dedicated to empowering young people and helping them avoid entering the care system. Ngakau Atawhai is bound with tikanga, aroha and whakawhanaungatanga that supports at-risk youth to realize their worth.

    Drivers Licence Programme
    Working alongside the Ministry of Social Development, we support rangatahi to obtain their learners, restricted and full drivers licence through onsite workshops while also removing the barrier of costs.


    Wānanga Rangatahi Programme

    An eight week course held at Taumata o Kupe for at risk rangatahi, to promote wellbeing by developing their resilience, confidence, and inner strength. The core focus is on learning and understanding Māori cultural values, which are embedded throughout the programme.

    Ngā Oho Ake

    Year 1 – 13 student support providing assistance with getting to and from their educational facility and additional resources required.

  • Ngahiahia Kai, alongside the Ministry of Social Development, supplies nutritious food packs to whānau in our community.

  • Whitiora ensures that families and whānau in crisis receive the care, guidance, and resources they need to navigate challenging times and work toward healing and endurable stability.

  • Leisa Nathan's Ochre Business offers free mentoring through an 8-week course. The online modules are tailored for those looking to get a mortgage, or needing financial guidance with budgeting and goal setting.

  • From health, employment to education, our services are designed to uplift, empower and support our urban Māori communities to thrive. We know every journey is different that’s why we offer wraparound, whanau centred support that meets people where they’re at.
